Founded by artist Linda Brothwell, The Tool Appreciation Society encapsulates her longstanding research into tools and thier cultural importance.
The Tool Appreciation Society
Home of international research into artisans, making and tools.
With a firm belief that this research has a value both in and out-side of an artistic context; The Tool Appreciation Society is a record of making and regionality, showcasing the importance of tools.
The Tool Appreciation Society was founded to encapsulate the artist Linda Brothwell’s research into tools since 2010.
The society was officially given (public) life in 2017 as a solo exhibition for Brothwell and series of community events in partnership with Hull City Library and curated by Clare Cumberlidge, Thirteen Ways.
